A little overview of the past two months
February 7th, 2009,Hello guys and ladies, it’s been a while since the last update but here I am writing this post and eating my rather tasty carrot soup! I know that some of you have started to hate us already (Paulius! - sorry) but I hope things will return to their previous tracks once I start updating this blog more frequently. I am kinda dissapointed with the attitude of my flatmates towards this website, because I’m the only one for the last few months who actually wrote several posts and this made me feel desperate about the future of this page so I just quit writing. However, during the last few weeks I began to understand that this blog is more than just a container for some random stupid thoughts - it actually is a great resource for guys out there, who are not sure whether they should go study abroad or not, who would like to know what the life of a student is like out here or just those, who are our friends and want to keep up with the latest news from our small world. Because of these reasons I started developing my secret plan
, which I’ll publish some time later hopefully at the end of the month.
I don’t want to talk about my holidays in Lithuania, however I would like to tell you what happened when I got back home here, in Aarhus. First of all, the final semester project started in January. It were two crazy weeks when I really worked hard during that period and even stayed up till early mornings to keep up with the timeline and be ready with the report and product. My group decided to produce an online shopping website for Aarhus market, which would deliver your groceries in one hour after order, 24/7. We actually had to do a lot of research for this project and it was a hell of a lot of fun. We came up with this final design and we are really proud of it. Then a week of holiday followed. My flatmates went to Lithuania and I decided to stay here, maybe look for a job and just chill. Unfortunately I got sick during that week so I spent half of my holiday sitting at home and watching movies. One of the best was Rockers, which was really explanatory about the situation of rastafaries in Jamaica. Their love for music is fascinating and it was interesting to see what simple lives they live. I strongly recommend watching this movie.
The second semester started last week, we were introduced to our schedule and things we’re gonna be learning: JavaScript, PHP, Actionscript 3.0, and, of course, lot’s of business and communication. First week was rather tiring and it was good to spend my Friday afternoon in the Friday bar at school. I’m also planning on joining the party committee at our college and throwing some great parties during the last year I’ve got left to study MMD.
Well, that’s the end of the short overview of what has happened during the last two months. By the way, as I was not able to find any job here (I tried a lot of places, they just want Danish speaking guys) I decided to go freelance web developing. Check out my portfolio and let me know if anyone you know needs a website or an outsource programmer (PHP, Javascript, HTML). That’s it, take care folks!

6 shouts already! » Common, say something!
what mark did your group got for the project you did?
and what kind of parties are you thinking to throw at ats?
nice that you keep on writing your blog, and shame on those who are not writing…
Almost everyone got 7-10, it’s like a guideline mark, so no real evaluation actually. If the report would’ve had more academic approach we’d have received better marks..
I am not sure about the parties yet, I’ll know that stuff probably next week. At the moment their plan is to start with Friday Bar and move on to bigger parties later.
Thanks! It’s strange that people actually are visiting it, thought I’ll have to wait for a month till I’ll receive any new comments :)
i should say i havent been here for one month,
i find it stupid and hopeless that in MMD course teachers mostly are concentrating on the reports and barely on the product it self….
Well, most of the teachers have graduated this MMD course when it was actually a Multimedia communication course (not much of design), probably because of that they are focusing on the things they used to focus on while they were studying. And still you are attending an academy and you have to have an academic approach to what you are doing. That’s probably the main reasons for this concentration on reports. Sorry my English got broken after writing one rather long post…
so your very practical work is being evaluated by people with no practical knowledge/skills. just theoretical approach. interesting…
Well, website itself is only 1/4 of evaluation. They also need presentation and report. While writing the report you do millions of researches. But yeah, report is the most important thing in the project
